HOT SEAL Redemption

HOT SEAL Team #5

By Lynn Raye Harris

Bailey Jones doesn’t know jack about babies, but she knows how much it sucks to have a deadbeat father. So when her sister drops off her newborn baby and then disappears, Bailey is ready and willing to confront anyone, including a six-foot-two, sexier-than-sin Navy SEAL sniper, and make him do his duty.

Alexei “Camel” Kamarov is not the sort of man to carelessly father a kid, but as the oldest of six, he does know a thing or two about babies. The firebrand on his doorstep might have mistakenly tagged him as the baby daddy, but Bailey is cute, and Alexei is more than willing to give her a hands-on class in Baby 101.

When a ruthless criminal comes looking for the missing sister–putting Bailey and the baby in danger–the situation escalates. Bringing them under his roof and enlisting his HOT teammates to help find Bailey’s sister are easy. But as Alexei and Bailey draw closer, passions erupt and feelings tangle.

That’s nothing compared to the danger lurking in the shadows–and the test that awaits them both. Bailey will need to give everything she’s got to redeem Alexei’s faith in love. And he’ll have to move heaven and earth to save her–before someone takes her away from him for good…

I’ve read quite a few of the HOT series but this is my first of the HOT SEAL off-shoots and I can honestly say it didn’t make a difference.  I stopped because I fell behind by a book or two and there seemed to be enough flow from book to book (mostly with the bad guy) that I didn’t feel comfortable picking up again in the middle.  I was assured this was a good place to start back up, though, and I’m sure glad I listened!

Based on the stories I’d read before I knew I’d get action and emotion, with strong women and take charge men, and this one didn’t disappoint.  From the first page I was hooked!  After her sister left her in charge of her niece, Bailey goes barreling over to Alexei’s to confront the man who she thought was the baby’s dad.  From her banging on his door and yelling her *ahem* “high” opinion about him to Alexei bringing her into his home to help her take care of Ana, it’s fun and sassy and a great meet-cute.

Of course, bad things come calling when Bailey gets threatened at work by someone looking for her sister.  With the brains and brawn that populate the HOT team, Bailey has a lot of help at her disposal.  But it’s going to take some time which keeps her in Alexei’s orbit just that much longer … lucky girl!

Neither of them were looking to get involved, but the heart rarely plays fair and I really enjoyed watching both Bailey and Alexei fall in love.  They struggle with it a bit and have a few moments where being a little more up front about their changing feelings would have saved them both some heartache, but overall it was pretty drama free (which I appreciate).  Instead, we get two people who thought they wanted one thing slowly figuring out that maybe they want something so much different after all.

With a large dose of sizzle between the main characters, a little bit of danger thrown in to spice things up, Alexei and Bailey’s romance if a ton of fun to read.  I’m looking forward to enjoying more of the HOT guys … maybe I’ll go back and get the ones I’ve missed!

Hostile Operations Team novel, Hostile Operations Team series, Hot Addiction, HOT series, Lynn Raye Harris

Have I got something ah-mazing for you today.  If you like military ops/suspense romances, Lynn Raye Harris is a must read!  I’m so thrilled that we’ve got the first look at her newest Hostile Operations Team (HOT … of course) book.  Come check out Dex with me!

*****

Excerpt:

Five years ago…

Dexter Davidson checked his watch for the thousandth time that morning. It was nearing noon and his bride-to-be was over an hour late. His father stood in the chancel, his rented tuxedo making him appear distinguished and genteel rather than rough and worn like the farmer he was. But the look on his face was what killed Dex the most. It was one of pity and a growing resignation.

“Fuck this,” Dex growled as he clenched his jaw tight and walked down the aisle, between the rows of pews where the guests waited for the ceremony to start. The chapel doors were open to the outside because it was springtime and warm. But it was also raining. A soft, gentle rain, but rain nonetheless.

Perhaps the rain had caused a delay. Dex stood in the open door and took his phone from his pocket. Annabelle still hadn’t answered his texts. He sent another one, just in case, and felt his heart shrivel just a little bit more when no answer came.

He tried calling but it went to voicemail without even ringing. “Belle,” he said, his throat tight and his eyes stinging, “where are you, baby? I’m worried. Please let me know you’re safe. If you’ve changed your mind, it’s okay. Just let me know.”

It wasn’t okay if she’d changed her mind, but what else could he say? Annabelle Quinn had been his girl for the past four years. He’d fallen madly in love with her in an instant. He’d known her most of his life, had ignored her for much of it because she was his little sister’s best friend, but one day, pow!, she’d smiled at him the way she had a million times before—and he was done for. He’d been hers from that moment forward.

And now they were supposed to be getting married. He’d come home on leave from the Army at Christmas and asked her to marry him. She’d said yes. She and his sister had planned everything while he went back to Afghanistan and did his best to stay alive. He didn’t know how long he stood there before he felt a presence beside him.

“I’m sorry, Dex.” Katie put a hand on his arm. “She’s not coming.”

HOT SEAL Team #3

by Lynn Raye Harris

Blurb:

From New York Times bestselling author Lynn Raye Harris comes the next explosive story in the HOT SEAL Team series!

Navy SEAL Cody “Cowboy” McCormick is in Las Vegas for a little R & R before his friend’s wedding when a beautiful blonde jams a gun in his side and abducts him from a casino in broad daylight. He could stop her, but he plays along because he’s intrigued—plus he’s convinced she’s in danger.

CIA agent Miranda Lockwood’s life is on the line when an undercover operation goes wrong. Little does she know when she sashays up to the biggest, baddest looking dude in the casino lobby that she’s kidnapping a Navy SEAL—or that she’ll be unable to resist his charm when he turns up the heat.

When the CIA labels her a rogue agent, Miranda’s faith in everything she believes in is shaken to the core. Cody’s the only one she can trust to help her find the traitor in the agency. But even though she’s forced to betray him, she can’t get over the SEAL who made her feel safe in his arms. Miranda will have to fight harder than she’s ever fought for anything if she wants his forgiveness—but Cody’s not in a forgiving mood in spite of the sparks that still fly when he’s forced to team up with her again.

When disaster strikes and they’re caught in the line of fire, Cody will do everything in his power to keep them both alive. Because if he doesn’t, he’ll never get to hold Miranda close again…

Excerpt:

“You aren’t a Navy SEAL,” she said, her heart thumping. “I don’t know who you are, but you aren’t that.”

“Actually, I am. But I work for an organization that, uh, knows things. If you’re involved with Conti, then you’re either with the FBI, DEA, or the CIA. Conti’s illegal activities fall under the areas of interest for any of the three.”

Crap.

“So care to tell me which one it is?” he finished. “Might make this a bit easier for both of us.”

“You planning to give me back my ammunition if I do?”

“Depends,” he said.

Miranda sighed. Her default setting was not to trust anyone, but maybe she needed to start. Not that she’d tell him everything. Definitely not. But she could give him enough to relax his guard—and then she could give him the slip when she got the chance.

Or, hell, maybe he’d prove to be useful after all.

“CIA,” she said. “We’re interested in the arms dealing, of course. He’s been supplying guns to ISIS and the Freedom Force, among others, for quite some time. But he’s also putting assault weapons on the streets here, and that’s not a good thing. Of course, that’s the FBI’s territory, but we’re cooperating on this one.”

“So what’s your real name, Jane?”

“Actually, that is my real name—my middle name. My first name is Miranda.”

“Miranda,” he said softly, and a shiver ran down her spine. Liquid heat took up residence in her core, spilling out into her limbs. All because of the way he said her name. What the hell was that about?

“That’s right. Can I have my clip back now?”

“Not quite. Give me a last name.”

“Why do you need that?” It was against her religion to share her details. She’d had that drummed into her during the years of covert ops. Trust no one.

“Mine is McCormick. Cody McCormick, United States Navy. I work for an organization you’ve probably heard of, but I’m going to bet you thought it was a myth. Unless you’ve ever worked with us before, and then you know.”

HOT. He had to be talking about the Hostile Operations Team, but she wasn’t going to be the first to speak the name. Yeah, she knew about them. Mark had done ops with them before in the Middle East. She’d once spent a rough two days in the embassy in Baghdad with a group of HOT operators. They’d been there to extract a major who’d gotten nabbed in a market and taken prisoner. But then the embassy came under attack, and she’d thought for sure the major was dead.

He wasn’t though. HOT came through.

“And what phantom group is this?” she replied, because she wasn’t going to let on that she knew.

“We’re called HOT. We deal in pretty much all the shit nobody else wants to. We go where none dare.”

Where None Dare. Yes, she remembered that from the team she’d spent time with. They were proud of that.

For the first time, she felt a little bit of relief flowing through her. “My name is Miranda Lockwood. That’s not the name Conti was supposed to know—but he does. I don’t know how, but I’ve been compromised.”

Saying the words aloud was like releasing the pressure in a valve. She felt as if a weight was gone even though nothing had been resolved.

Wordlessly, Cody handed her the clip to her weapon. She took it and slid it home. Then she put the gun into her purse and draped the chain over her shoulder. The sense of relief washing through her was strong. She was used to staying on her guard, and she still would, of course, but his gesture meant something. He wasn’t out to kill her. At least not immediately.

“Thank you.”

“You’re welcome. Trust me now?”

She shrugged. “I don’t trust anyone. But I believe we’re on the same side. At least for now.”

“I’m going to help you, Miranda. We’re getting out of here. Promise.”

She’d love to believe him, but she’d learned never to count the chickens before the eggs hatched. That’s how you ended up dead in this business.

“I’m going to need a change of clothes and a burner,” she said, all businesslike.

“Can you manage that?”

He shot her that sexy grin again. It melted through her like a flame cutting through wax. “Sunshine, I can manage anything you need.”

Hostile Operations Team series

by Lynn Raye Harris

Sex with the ex… It shouldn’t be this good the second time around.

Navy SEAL Dane “Viking” Erikson has sworn off women—or at least he’s sworn off one woman: DEA Agent Ivy McGill. His ex-wife.

But when they’re forced to work together on a critical military mission, Dane can’t help but notice how the one woman he shouldn’t want is the only one he can’t stop thinking about.

Ivy knows what it’s like to fall for a SEAL’s hard muscles and killer smile—and she knows what it’s like when everything falls apart. So why is she naked against a wall and begging Dane for more?

(Originally included in the SEALs of Summer 2: A Military Romance Superbundle box set, Hot SEAL will be available as a standalone novella by autumn 2015.)

I’ve never been shy about the fact that I absolutely LOVE the HOT series and Harris’s latest novella doesn’t disappoint. I will give a warning that this is a little bit of a variance from the previous stories though. It is loosely tied to the terrorist group from before but it centers around a South American drug cartel instead. Some of our favorite HOT members are involved but we are also given a new hero & heroine and their supporting cast.

However all the things that we love about the HOT series is here – the action is thrilling, the romance is steamy and the characters are interesting. If anything, I would have wanted this to be longer because I really would have liked to see more about these two. Their story is complete (and it is a humdinger – both the suspense portion and their very complicated relationship) but they are complex enough that I think they could have supported a full length story – especially Dane and his issues with his father. What we are given, though, is satisfying and I can’t wait to see where we go from here.

As much as this can stand on its own, since the majority of the action is centered around a different bad guy than the stories so far, there is enough going on here that it fits in with the continuing series. It won’t stop new readers from keeping up, but there are pieces that flow over from previous books. I also really like the idea of introducing a new subset team to HOT with the SEALs. It gives Harris a lot of material to work with for future stories.

Book Review, Hostile Operations Team series, HOT Ice, Lynn Raye Harris

Once again Lynn Rayed Harris brings us a seductive military romance, with a to-die-for hero, in the latest installment to her HOT series!

*****

2940149922710_p0_v1_s260x420When fire and ice collide, you get steam…

Grace Campbell leads a privileged life. The daughter of a United States senator, she moves within the social circles of the rich and famous. But Grace is also a scientist, and when someone learns she possesses the knowledge necessary to create a new super virus capable of destroying entire nations, she becomes a target for terror groups and foreign governments alike.

Garrett “Iceman” Spencer didn’t join the Army’s elite Hostile Operations Team to babysit a spoiled rich girl, but when his superiors insist on assigning him to a senator’s daughter as her security detail, he has no choice but to comply.

It’s a shock to find that beneath the glasses and serious scowl, Grace Campbell burns hot. And Garrett, who’s been burned before, suddenly wants to immerse himself in the flames.

Keeping Grace alive—and keeping his hands off her—is a full-time job for this HOT soldier. Failure is not an option…

I’m sure I’ve said it before, but I’m going to again – Harris’s books pack quite a punch.  They are full of danger and intrigue, complicated Alphas and the women they fall for, oh-so-steamy sex scenes and emotions galore.  I can’t decide if I like her stories more for the romance or for the action.  But it doesn’t matter because she’s an artist at delivering both.

The men of HOT are strong, dedicated, and brave, but as you would expect they have a ton of issues.  If you read Hot Rebel then you knew that Garrett was going to fall next … and fall hard.  The man has himself tied up in so many knots that it is going to take a very special woman to reach him.  And I’m SO glad that Grace is that woman.

I think Grace has to be one of my characters in this series (and that is saying a lot).  She’s strong but unsure of herself, a fish out of water in most situations, but she’s got a level head and a lot of grit.  Faced with someone out to kidnap her, she rolls with it … granted she got a big, bad bodyguard at her side, and a yummy one at that, so that definitely helps 🙂

Garrett isn’t one for sharing, internalizing his troubles and pain, but time spent with Grace quickly changes that.  On the run and in very close quarters, he finds it hard to resist her.  The interactions between these two are the perfect mixture of humor, caring and heat.  It’s a fantastic ride from how they rubbed each other the wrong way at their first meeting to falling into bed together.  I loved them as a couple and although he fights it, Garrett sees it too … but getting him to act on it takes a lot.  Luckily Grace has the spirit to be the match he needs.

And as much as I enjoy seeing these guys fall in love, I’m also kept on the edge of my seat by the danger they find themselves in.  There is a general theme that has been running thru the books as a lot of the plots are tied together, even just a little, so it does help to have read the whole series.  But trust me, with guys like this and Harris’s addictive writing style, you won’t mind a bit!

Book Review, Hostile Operations Team novel, Hostile Operations Team series, Hot Rebel, HOT series, Lynn Raye Harris

6. Hot_Rebel_USA rebel on the run…

Victoria Royal is a traitor. Or so the U.S. Government believes. Victoria was once a promising sniper in the Army, but now she’s gone rogue—worse, she’s just landed in the middle of a Hostile Operations Team mission in the desert and blasted it all to hell.

Nick “Brandy” Brandon doesn’t expect to run into Victoria when he’s bugging out from a mission gone wrong. It’s been more than three years since she disappeared from the sniper course they were in together, and he’s finally stopped thinking about her killer curves and smart mouth.

But now she’s back—and she’s far more dangerous than Nick ever believed possible… Is she really a traitor? Or is there something more at stake? He has to decide fast—because time’s running out and too many lives hang in the balance…

Take everything I’ve said about the first three books (HOT Pursuit, HOT Mess & HOT Package) and just hit repeat because once again Harris is totally on.  Full of alpha males and the sassy women who love them (and who they love), plus a ton of action and adventure, her HOT series is so much fun!

Victoria’s unusual upbringing and the trouble with her sister has definitely affected her life and her interactions with others.  She’s not soft and cuddly, but she has a big heart that she’s not sure how to share.  She’s always had a tumultuous relationship with Nick and, thrown together for a mission, he brings some extra complications she doesn’t need.  Not only is the action part of their story exciting but I was addicted to seeing these two work out their issues and find the answers they need AND their own happy ending.

I’ll be honest – I’ve skipped a couple of stories and I have absolutely no idea why.  They are fast-paced, engrossing and include a group of totally addictive characters.  There is some overflow in the plot but, speaking as someone who has missed books 4 and 5, it isn’t that big an issue.  It might make it a little interesting when I go back to read the others but Harris’s stories are so good that I’m definitely not going to let that stop me.

If y’all haven’t read anything in Harris’s HOT series, you are in for SUCH a treat with HOT Rebel.

Some of you may be familiar with Lynn Raye Harris’s perfectly (and delightfully) named HOT series – Hot Pursuit, Hot Mess, Hot Package, Dangerously Hot, and Hot Shot.  This series is the perfect choice for those who love military-style action romances.

I’m reading Hot Rebel now, although I skipped Book 4 and 5 for some reason, and I’m absolutely loving it so far.  I’ll have a review up as soon as I can … and for the rest too because they are so good I’m going to HAVE to go back and read what I’ve missed.

For now though check out this sneak peek!

Excerpt:

Nick’s comm link crackled for the first time since this mission had gone to hell. “Need that firebird, Flash,” he grated before Ryan Gordon could speak. Jesus, this mission had been plagued with bad luck from the start. In the last few hours, a dust storm had interfered with their primary comm and sent them to backup. And now this.

“Called it in, man. HQ says it’s coming. What the fuck happened?”

Flash and the team were a couple of miles away, waiting for Nick and Dex.

“We got company, that’s what. They took out the opposition commander. Our guy got away.”

“Shit.”

“Yeah. No sign of our shooter or his team.”

“Don’t worry about them,” Kev “Big Mac” MacDonald broke in. “Get the fuck out and we’ll let HQ sort it out.”

Like Nick would do anything differently. But, yeah, if he could get a glimpse of this asshole, he’d take the chance.

“Birdie’s ETA is fifteen minutes. You guys all right?”

“Yeah,” Nick said as he and Dex busted out the back door of the building they’d been haunting like ghosts for the last few days and made for the next zone they’d set up.

The sun was setting and long shadows lay across the desert landscape. The heat of the day still shimmered on the horizon, and the sounds in the town were subdued. A goat bleated somewhere. Nick’s head jerked up as something moved to his left. But there was nothing and he kept running.

Dex made it first and burst into the building they’d scouted days ago. There was always the chance someone had taken shelter in the last few days, but the building was abandoned and the chances were slim.

Dex headed for the long bank of windows at the rear and hunkered down inside the wall. Nick could hear shouting coming from outside now. It was still a few streets over, but moving closer.

The door they’d come through just a few seconds ago shot open and both men raised their weapons automatically.

A woman in a burkha stood there, silhouetted against the setting sun. Nick wondered if it was the same woman he’d seen earlier, but then he realized this one didn’t have a basket like the last one.

“Fuck me,” Dex breathed softly at the sight of a rifle cradled in her arms.

The woman ripped away the face covering and tipped her chin up, and Nick shook his head as if to clear a mirage.

“Not just now, boys,” she said in perfect English. Or as perfect as a Southern accent could come to it anyhow. “We’ve got a company of tangos on our heels, or hadn’t you noticed?”

Blurb:

Cool under pressure… Until now.

Hostile Operations Team sniper Jack “Hawk” Hunter is cool, methodical, and utterly lethal. Nothing rattles Jack’s calm. But that was before he learned he fathered a child three years ago–a child who has just been kidnapped.

Gina Domenico is a superstar, a pop sensation with a string of hit records. But deep inside, she’s still the lonely girl she’s always been. When Jack saved her from an arms dealer, they spent three unforgettable days together waiting for rescue–and Gina fell hard for the sexy soldier before he walked away forever.

But now she needs his help and she’ll do anything to get it. Though Jack can never forgive Gina for keeping his child from him, he’ll do everything in his power–and HOT’s–to bring their son home safely.

Nothing is what it seems, however, and their fates hang in the balance as someone else pulls the strings…and brings them ever closer to an explosive confrontation that could either save their son–or cost them everything.

Excerpt:

A few minutes later Jack came into the bedroom. She thought she should tell him to knock first or something, but she didn’t have the energy. The barriers that would normally be there between her and a man just weren’t there with Jack.

“You didn’t eat enough on the plane. I ordered room service.”

“I’m not hungry.”

“Gina.” He walked into the room and stopped in front of her. His blue eyes roamed her face while her heart kicked up. When he met her eyes again, her breath hitched. “You have to rest and you have to eat. We don’t know what’s going to happen, and you need to be strong. That’s one of the rules on a mission. Take care of yourself or you’re no good to your team.”

“I’m not part of your team. I’m just me.”

“You aren’t alone on this. We’re here, and that makes you part of the team. I’m ordering you to eat, same as I’d order my spotter or anyone else under my authority, and then I’m ordering you to rest.”

“I’m not under your authority.” Maybe she should be angry at the way he was talking to her, but she was oddly touched. God, just blame it on stress and a situation outside her control. She needed to push this man away, but she couldn’t seem to do it.

“Think of this like the island. I’m the one with the experience. I know what I’m doing. I got you out of there, didn’t I?”

She nodded.

“Trust me to get you out of here too, okay?”

“All right.”

He lifted an eyebrow. “You gonna eat when the food gets here?”

“Depends on what you ordered. I hate squash, for instance.”

“Then I’ll call and cancel the squash sandwich.”

She couldn’t help but laugh even though it had an edge that could turn into panic at any moment. “You didn’t order anything of the sort.”

“No.” He backed away and reached for the door handle. “Put on your pajamas. Get comfortable.”

“I don’t wear pajamas. I don’t wear anything.”

He stopped in mid-swing and she wanted to laugh again. She did wear pajamas, but she’d wanted to rattle him. Just because.

“Well, honey, you can come out here in nothing if you want, but it’ll probably be embarrassing for you and the delivery person both. Still, you can tip him good and I’m sure it’ll be fine.”

He shot her a grin before shutting the door behind him. Gina stood there with her heart pounding and her pulse skipping and wondered just what it was about him that made her want to get beneath his skin.

Book Review, Hostile Operations Team series, Hot Package, Lynn Raye Harris

cover44944-mediumWhen public relations expert Olivia Reese stumbles onto evidence of a dangerous conspiracy right before Christmas, there’s only one man she can call for help. Billy “The Kid” Blake is a member of an elite military unit—the Hostile Operations Team—and he’s Olivia’s former lover.

Billy never forgot the sexy woman who rocked his world—and his bed—before she walked out on him. Now that she needs his help, he’ll do anything he can to keep her safe. But as time runs out and the snow piles up, can Billy and Olivia work together to thwart a lethal plot against the Pentagon without getting involved again?

Note: This novellas has been previously published in the Hot, Sexy & Bad box set.

With a little more action than Hot Mess but a little less than Hot Pursuit, Hot Package is the perfect choice for those looking for a mix of suspense and romance in a tiny little package.  I love these HOT guys – they are strong and smart and big hearted.  They fight hard, play hard and love hard.  Here, I appreciate how well Harris can give her readers a complete story, packed full of emotion and thrills, in under 100 pages.

Olivia had an uncertain childhood, bounced from place to place as her mom went from relationship to relationship. She doesn’t have a lot of confidence in men sticking around and those fears helped destroy her relationship with Billy.  He also had a bad experience, with his mom leaving him with his aunt, and having another woman not stick around just proves that those who should love you don’t stay.  Thrown together to look into possible trouble at her work, they have to decide if they can let go off their issues or if they are going to let it destroy their chance of being together.

I liked these two a lot.  They have good chemistry and they work well together on figuring out what is going on at Olivia’s work.  We get a little glimpse of the rest of the HOT team and a few hints at possible future stories.  The mystery is well done and I really enjoyed how it ended.  There was great tension, hot sex, and touching emotions. Harris is a master at giving readers kick-ass intrigue mixed with heart-warming moments and she’s become my can’t-be-missed military romance author.

Book Review – Hot Mess

Book Review, Hostile Operations Team series, Hot Mess, Lynn Raye Harris

cover35897-mediumEnglish professor Dr. Georgeanne Hayes has a problem. Her star pupil, an Army sergeant who works in a top-secret government program, is missing—and someone tried to push her in front of a train last night.

Sam “Knight Rider” McKnight is used to looking out for Georgie. When they were kids, she was just his best friend’s baby sister. But Georgie’s not a baby anymore and Sam is getting some very male—and very dirty—thoughts about the girl he knows he can never have.

When someone threatens Georgie’s life again, Sam will do anything necessary to keep her safe. Even if it means spending the next few days locked up in a remote house on Maryland’s Eastern Shore with her.

Sam might be used to denying himself what he wants, but he’s about to find out that being cooped up with Georgie will push him to the limit. And maybe beyond.

Unlike Hot Pursuit, Hot Mess is more romance than thriller.  There is a little bit involving the disappearance of Georgie’s student and what that means for her, but the majority of the story is about Sam and Georgie’s feelings.  (Now, don’t get me wrong, this isn’t a bad thing, but if you are looking for a lot of action this isn’t it.  Definitely check out Hot Pursuit though because that one was a ton of fun.)

Sam has had a thing for Georgie (and her for him) for years.  Unfortunately Sam comes with a lot of baggage from his past and now there is the difficulty of a life in a covert military group.  Even if he could get over his feeling of being unworthy of Georgie, his job does not make it easy to have a relationship.  He has so much going for him though – he’s strong and smart and dedicated – he just has to realize that … and then Georgie has to decide if she can accept a world where he could leave at the drop of a hat and maybe not come back.  She is sure of her feelings for Sam but his new career has to be taken into consideration too.  When they are thrown together in a small house, isolated and alone, their feelings prove difficult to ignore.

I loved these two together.  They steam up the sheets, but they also warm up the heart.  Sam’s concerns are very real and very valid.  It isn’t easy being a military wife and it has to be even harder when your husband is in such a covert group. But Harris handles it beautifully and you finish with a great warm & fuzzy feeling.  And with the anticipation of more stories in the future.
